From the local host Associations
“So far, "Ana Huna" association has received three volunteers from Al-Massar. Despite the short duration of volunteering, it was such a rich experience and a positive impact on both parties and in several aspects such as; exchanging experiences in the field of rehabilitating children with behavioral, mental challenges & disabilities and cultural exchange, where the association’s workers and beneficiaries and volunteers got the chance to learn about each other’s country, its customs and folklore.”
Ana Huna
association for Rehabilitating children with behavioral, mental challenges & disabilities- Jordan.“
When Al-Masar Company offered us to receive volunteers from different countries, we had reservations about some matters, and whether we would have an understanding of the interest of work because of the difference in language and culture, but what happened was completely the opposite of what we expected. It was a wonderful experience. We did not expect those positive results and that positive energy that filled the place.
Despite the broken language, we saw a great harmony and understanding between the teachers and the volunteers, they had discussions about work and other topics. The teachers gained new experiences, culture, language and information about other countries and it had a great impact on the education process. The teachers also gained new experience in making friends with people from other countries. The friendship between the teachers and the volunteers even continued after the end of the volunteering period.
As for the students, they learned new skills in music and painting, and they practically understood that we are not the only ones who live in this world, there are other peoples in this world who are different from us in language and way of living, and their location on the map. The students were excited to share their daily lives with the volunteers. They created a new language by means of body movements to communicate With the volunteers.
On our part, as a management, we also gained a new experiences on for example how to prepare an appropriate work program for a person who is different from us in language and in specialization, how to organize the relationship between teachers and volunteers and preparing the students and the teachers on how to deal with volunteers and what was possible and what was not, everything went smoothly and harmoniously!
Thank you AL Masar , and thank you to the wonderful people who volunteered for us. We were happy together and benefited from each other. It was a wonderful time and we felt its positive impact on students and teachers."
