Welcome to Al Masar Voluntourism! Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before submitting your application. By applying to join our program, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the following terms:
Definitions
- All pricing is stated in US Dollars unless otherwise specified.
- Time references are based on Jordan local time.
- “Al Masar” refers to Al Masar Voluntourism, registered in Jordan.
- “Volunteer” means the individual applying or accepted to participate in Al Masar Volunteering programs.
- “Intern” means the individual applying or accepted to participate in Al Masar Internship programs.
- “Participants” means the individual applying or accepted to participate in any of Al Masar programs.
- “Local Partner Team” refers to the local coordinators facilitating the program.
- “Local Partner Organisation” refers to the local host companies and institutions that host the participants.
- “Local host family” refers to the local Family hosting participants .
- The “Al Masar website” refers to www.almasarvoluntourism.com.
Program Acceptance
Al Masar reserves the right to accept or reject applications at its discretion. Participants must provide accurate and truthful information about their background, qualifications, and health. Inaccurate or withheld information may result in removal from the program with no refund.
All accepted Participants must sign the Al Masar Code of Conduct and Liability Waiver prior to participation. Additional local agreements may apply.
Travel & Documentation
Participants are solely responsible for:
- Booking and funding their travel to and from the program location.
- Obtaining valid passports, visas, and any required permits.
Al Masar may offer guidance but does not guarantee visa issuance or travel approval.
Insurance
Travel insurance with international medical coverage is mandatory for all participants. Participants are responsible for choosing and purchasing appropriate insurance to cover health, accidents, theft, and emergencies for the entire duration of their trip.
Registration Fees
A non-refundable Registration Fee secures your spot. It is:
- Not transferable.
- Subject to a 5% banking transaction fee.
- Required before program confirmation.
Program options and cancellation flexibility may vary. Specific terms will be outlined on your program invoice or offer letter.
Program Fees
Full payment of Program Fees is required no later than 30 days before the program start date. These fees include accommodation and any listed inclusions. Fees are subject to:
- A 5% transaction fee.
- A $75 fee for international bank transfers.
- Possible surcharge for certain start dates.
Late payments may result in cancellation without refund of the Registration Fee.
Installment Payments
Participants paying more than $500 may request an installment plan. Full payment must still be completed 7 days before the program fee deadline. Missed payments may result in cancellation under standard refund policies.
Group Participation
Groups of 8 or more must nominate a Group Coordinator to manage applications. The coordinator will act on behalf of the group for documentation and consent. Al Masar is not liable for incorrect information submitted by the coordinator.
Group applications must be completed 60 days before the program starts.
Add-ons & Upgrades
Optional experiences (e.g., cultural tours, extra nights, transport upgrades) may be available. These:
- Must be paid in advance.
- Are subject to a 5% transaction fee.
- Are non-refundable, unless otherwise stated.
Program Cancellation by Al Masar
In the unlikely event of cancellation of your program by Al Masar, you may:
- Transfer to another available program (fees may apply).
- Receive credit for 12 months.
- Request a refund in accordance with our refund policy.
Al Masar is not liable for personal expenses (e.g., flights) outside of program fees.
Refund Policy
Refunds are limited to program and registration fees as outlined in your confirmation. Banking fees are non-refundable. Refunds in other currencies may vary due to exchange rate differences. Full Refund of Program fees is possible if a cancellation is filed 30 days before the start day. 50% if a cancellation is filed 14 days before the start date.
No refunds are issued 7 days before the program starts, or once the program starts, or a Participation Letter has been provided for visa, university, or fundraising purposes.
Participant Conduct
Participants must:
- Follow all local laws and cultural norms.
- Abide by the Al Masar Code of Conduct.
- Respect program staff, host families, and fellow Participants.
Violations may result in immediate removal from the program without refund. Al Masar may notify a Participant’s emergency contact, school, or employer in cases of misconduct.
Under-18 Participants
Participants under 18 must submit a Parental Consent Form. Failure to comply with safety or conduct expectations may lead to removal at the Participant’s expense, with no right to refund.
Drugs & Alcohol
Drug use (excluding prescribed medication) is strictly prohibited. Alcohol rules depend on local program policy and must be respected.
Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection
Participants working with minors or vulnerable individuals may need to submit a police background check. Failure to comply or breaches of policy may result in program termination.
Risk Acknowledgement
Participants assume full responsibility for personal risks involved in international travel and Participanting, including but not limited to:
- Injury or illness
- Natural disasters
- Theft or property loss
- Political unrest or pandemics
Al Masar disclaims all liability to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Non-Discrimination Policy
Al Masar prohibits discrimination based on race, religion, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin. Participants exhibiting discriminatory behavior will be dismissed without refund.
Complaints & Communication
Participants with complaints should first contact the Local Partner Team. If unresolved, concerns may be escalated to Al Masar headquarters. Aggressive or abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
Media & Testimonials
By participating, you grant Al Masar the right to use photos, videos, and testimonials you share for promotional purposes, without further consent or compensation.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jordan. Disputes shall be settled under Jordanian jurisdiction.
Force Majeure
Al Masar is not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events outside its control, including natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or political instability.
Updates to Terms
Al Masar reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will be available on our website.
